Jennifer and Tory got married at Garden of the Gods last year on Halloween day and I was pleased to hear that they were interested in celebrating one year of marriage together with an anniversary photography session. This time they were looking for something a little more rustic. I've wanted to check out a place called Alderfer/Three Sisters Park up in the mountains of Evergreen, Colorado. The park has a really neat old wood barn structure and a nice woodsy area too. It was a little chilly on the day that we met, but Jennifer and Tory were troopers and hung in there until sunset. Check out the pretty fall scenery from their session below!
Lauren and Galen were married in late August and their wedding sneak peek will be making its debut on the blog soon. But before we delve into their beautiful wedding I wanted to share a handful of the gorgeous bridal photography from Lauren's session at the South Mesa Trail in Boulder from mid-August. She had a whole crew of family there to help us out and we were able to create these lovely photos of this beautiful bride in some stunning scenery because of their help! She was trying to decide between these two dresses for her ceremony gown (the reception dress wasn't quite ready for the bridal session) but I won't spoil the surprise of which one she ended up going with on the wedding day. I'm so glad I can share these now that the big day has come and gone. Check back later for more of this beautiful bride on her actual wedding day in Boulder!
Love this one! I can never get enough of those rugged purple Boulder mountains. And adding a gorgeous bride to the scene only makes it better!

It's been awfully quiet on the blog lately. My husband and I set off in mid-February for an epic road trip through the deep south in our tiny 12 foot trailer we call Rapunzel. We're home now and I'll be sharing some photos from the trip soon but today I am kick starting the journal again with this gorgeous opera singer I was lucky enough to photograph in the natural light filled Cooper Lounge which is located on the 2nd level of Union Station in downtown Denver. Christie received special permission to use the space for her new website photos and we spent a few hours creating these. She's an incredible singer and I got to hear her lovely singing voice at her wedding a couple of summers ago. I am honored that she thought of me to help her create photos for her website rebrand. I think they turned out beautifully and I hope they bring in lots of interest for her.
I think this one might be my favorite:)
It's a pretty popular thing in the wedding industry these days for various wedding professionals to collaborate on a project together and submit the photos from the styled shoot to a wedding blog or magazine. It's a way for us to try ideas or techniques that we don't always get a chance to do on a real wedding day and it's fun to work together and be creative with something new. It's also meant to be helpful and inspire ideas in couples who are still in the planning stages of their wedding.
I admit, I've actually shied away from getting involved in a styled session because my regular workload and non-business life keeps me pretty busy already, but when Holly from Love Letters Floral contacted me with her ideas for creating a nighttime illuminated floral arrangement with a gold sparkle dress I just knew I was the photographer to be involved. My first love in photography was capturing night photography back when I was a student in college. I was a working girl student and I never had time to finish my assignments during the day due to work and classes so I would take my camera out at night to do my photography work. All of that trial and error years ago has served me well now that I'm doing portrait work and weddings.
I'd like to give a quick shout out to all of the vendors who helped make this beautiful styled shoot a success. First and foremost I'd like to thank Holly Kerr from Love Letter Florals who came up with the idea of doing this shoot in the first place. Holly also did all of the legwork with getting all of us vendors on board and helping to make the session a reality. It would not have happened if it weren't for her! I'd also like to thank the following people and businesses who also were involved in making it a beautiful session:
-Erin & James who are getting married this summer and let us borrow them as models for the evening!
-The Oxford Hotel who allowed us to use their luxurious lobby for one of our locations
-a&be bridal shop who lent us the beautiful sparkly gold dress for Erin to model.
-Jim's Formal Wear and Donna Beth Creations who helped make James look so handsome in his attire.
-Nina from Makeup by Nina Marie for using her talents on the make up.
-Kim from KimJ Beauty for her fabulous work on Erin's updo!
-Larimer Square in downtown Denver for always being such a beautiful night location for us photographers:)
