Colorado Men’s Lifestyle Headshot Photography | Lohi Neighborhood in Denver

R
yan contacted me recently needing to get some updated portraits created both for business and personal use. He's been in the Denver metro area since 2012 and is originally from Oregon so he already has enough photos enjoying the great outdoors and mountain settings so we opted to do more of a lifestyle urban headshot session in the city. The plants are just barely starting to blossom (They are sprouting way too early! I'm sure we'll get another big snowstorm. Or at least, I hope that we do!) so it makes sense to photograph in downtown Denver during winter. We decided on meeting at Little Man Ice Cream shop and walked all over the area including across the Platte River to get a good view of downtown Denver. One surprise location that I really loved was Forest Room 5 which despite being around for a long time now I've never had a chance to check out until we were walking in the area. I liked their woodsy vibe in the city so we stopped in for a few quick portraits there. I will definitely be checking out happy hour there soon! I'm pretty pleased with the variety of portraits we were able to create in just over an hour in the area. Check out just a handful of them below.

Newlywed Portrait Photography | Red Rocks at Mount Falcon Morrison, Colorado

O
ver the weekend I had a session scheduled with Alison and her husband Gabriel at the Mount Falcon east trail head in Morrison, Colorado. I was a little worried because the weather report was saying that it might be pretty windy and wind is definitely my least favorite weather element to work with when it comes to photography. Sure, a little soft breeze to gently blow someone's hair looks pretty awesome but we all know the misery that is a full on windy day here during March in Colorado. When I arrived the sky was looking pretty dramatic with lots of clouds and I was sure the wind was going to pick up but we actually got really lucky and it stayed fairly calm. Calm enough for us to work with it anyway. Alison and Gabriel are newlyweds and just got married in January this year. They wanted to get some pictures to celebrate their new life together and next month we'll meet up again to photograph the whole family together. For now, I hope they enjoy all of these lovely romantic photos of the two of them together.
Congratulations to the happy couple!

Denver Headshot Photos | Downtown Denver at Larimer Square

K
arna's company contacted me to set up a headshot session for her because they are doing a feature on her celebrating 20 years with the company. That is quite a feat in this day and age when people tend to move around and change up their career quite often. Since Karna works downtown and I really love using Larimer Square we decided to meet up over there for her headshot photo shoot. As always the string lights hanging over Larimer street look awesome at dusk. But I also love the pretty blue geometric mural by Gemma Danielle painted next to Cherry Creek so we incorporated it into her headshots. The blue of the wall and of the water in Cherry Creek looked great with Karna's pretty blue eyes!
