elcome to the journal for April O’Hare Photography! Here you’ll find all of my latest photographic outings with the couples, families, seniors and small businesses that I get to work with and make beautiful photographs for. You may also see a personal post here and there discussing my life or my travels with my teeny family of one husband and three cats! Sometimes I even write advice articles with tips to help make your photo experience better which you can check out under the “Educational” category.

Take your time and look around! Type in the place where you’ll be getting married in the search box to see if I’ve photographed there before. At the bottom of the page I’ve highlighted some of my favorite sessions and weddings from the past. Grab a drink and have fun going down the photo rabbit hole!

Fun Engagement Photos at Penny Arcade | Manitou Springs Colorado

July 9, 2015

I have some really cute Manitou Springs Engagement Photos to share on the journal this afternoon. I’ve been suggesting to clients who ask me where we should go for photos that we meet in Manitou Springs, Colorado for years now. But so far no one has chosen that location for their photo shoot. It’s not hard to understand why when Colorado Springs has so many gorgeous locations to choose from. But, Manitou Springs is one of the cutest little artsy mountain towns we have. And the penny arcade in Manitou Springs is home to my favorite old school arcade game, Chicago Coin’s Basketball Champ. I’m a nerd and I love it so much that I insisted that we squeeze into the crowded Penny Arcade building where it’s housed and played a couple rounds during our session.

Fun Penny Arcade Engagement Pictures in Manitou Springs

Speaking of the penny arcade, that’s really one of the big reasons why I always suggest this place to my clients. It has a huge collection of games spread throughout various buildings and all of the neon lights make for a really fun looking Manitou Springs engagement photo session. I was pretty pumped that Jennifer and Tory decided they would be up for checking out Manitou Springs and doing their engagement pictures there with me. They are fairly new to living out here in Colorado and haven’t had the opportunity to check out this adorable section of their new city. They’re planning to elope at the incomparable Garden of the Gods this fall which features endless gorgeous landscapes so I think Manitou Springs for the engagement session was a great choice. We were able to get lots of lovely engagement pictures for them around the town with beautiful murals and gardens and finished up with more of a fun date night feel at the arcade.

Btw, I found a youtube video showing the Chicago Coin Basketball Game. It does not do the game justice but you should check it out if you want to see this cute old school game I’m talking about!
