elcome to the journal for April O’Hare Photography! Here you’ll find all of my latest photographic outings with the couples, families, seniors and small businesses that I get to work with and make beautiful photographs for. You may also see a personal post here and there discussing my life or my travels with my teeny family of one husband and three cats! Sometimes I even write advice articles with tips to help make your photo experience better which you can check out under the “Educational” category.

Take your time and look around! Type in the place where you’ll be getting married in the search box to see if I’ve photographed there before. At the bottom of the page I’ve highlighted some of my favorite sessions and weddings from the past. Grab a drink and have fun going down the photo rabbit hole!

Denver Engagement Photographer | Fall Foliage at South Mesa Trail in Boulder

October 19, 2016

I first met Ryan when I did his extended family’s photos a couple of summers ago and his cousin’s wedding too. It’s his turn to get married now and I feel so lucky that he and his fiancé, Katie, chose me to photograph their wedding next summer at Church Ranch Event Center in Broomfield. I have never photographed there before and can’t wait to check it out. But first, Katie and Ryan wanted to get some nice autumn engagement photos with some pretty fall color for their save the dates. We met up at the always gorgeous South Mesa Trail right outside of Eldorado Springs, Colorado. Like I said, this trail is pretty year-round due to the gorgeous mountain views, but in the fall it explodes into a field of color. It’s one of the only places I know of that has some nice deep red color in the foliage. I was very pleased to see that it was in full swing when we arrived. We also got super lucky that evening with a really cool dramatic sunset sky complete with a fiery reddish pink glow just behind the dark blue clouds. It made for very nice contrast to all of the fall colors on the ground. Check out their full set below!

I have a whole gallery full of tons of awesome Colorado engagement photos HERE. Take a look!
