elcome to the journal for April O’Hare Photography! Here you’ll find all of my latest photographic outings with the couples, families, seniors and small businesses that I get to work with and make beautiful photographs for. You may also see a personal post here and there discussing my life or my travels with my teeny family of one husband and three cats! Sometimes I even write advice articles with tips to help make your photo experience better which you can check out under the “Educational” category.

Take your time and look around! Type in the place where you’ll be getting married in the search box to see if I’ve photographed there before. At the bottom of the page I’ve highlighted some of my favorite sessions and weddings from the past. Grab a drink and have fun going down the photo rabbit hole!

Colorado Mountain Wedding Photos | Square Dance Rehearsal Dinner in Buffalo Creek

September 11, 2017

Today I am featuring part one of a two part wedding story. Back in August, Juliana and Mike held a beautiful wedding celebration over the weekend with all of their friends at Juliana’s family’s private mountain retreat complete with cabins in Buffalo Creek, Colorado. Long time readers might recognize the location even though it’s a private home because my good friends Meghan and Emily were lucky enough to get married at the family home during fall a couple of years ago. It’s an incredible place for family and friends to gather and so much fun stuff around the property to keep the kids entertained. Friday night the family held their annual square dance party along with dinner served by the incredibly delicious Phoenecian Kabob restaurant (located at Colfax and Ivanhoe in Denver, go check them out sometime, you won’t regret it!). They have been hosting this square dance every summer and this year was even more special since they combined it with the wedding festivities. Juliana’s dad’s long time friend was the square dance caller and he wrangled the huge group of family and friends into squares and lines and circles and had them spinning each other all over the dance hall cabin. It was the perfect Friday night pre-wedding activity. What better way to meet other friends and wedding guests than by do-si-do-ing around a big cabin together?

Be sure to check out the WEDDINGS page of my website to find more information about wedding photography.
