Colorado Private Home Wedding | Mountain Vista Lodge in Silverthorne
For smaller more intimate weddings nothing beats renting a gigantic pretty mountain lodge with awesome views. That's exactly what Lindsay & Coty did in early September for their wedding day here in Colorado. They live in Kansas, but Lindsay's been visiting Colorado with her family since she was little and it's like a second home for her here in the mountains. So it makes sense that she and Coty opted for a small destination wedding with just their closest family and friends in Silverthorne, CO. They rented a place called Mountain Vista Lodge located off of Highway 9 and Ute Pass Road where the mountain views are incredible. There's a rustic wood triangle arch made out of huge logs at the ceremony site with long benches for guest seating. Lindsay's aunt helped the couple decorate it with huge pretty silk flowers. Lindsay & Coty were originally going to do their ceremony at Sapphire Point so we headed over to Lake Dillon to get some photos mid-day in that area before the early afternoon ceremony took place. It was such a laid back perfect day and one of my favorite parts was when Coty wheeled his new bride around in a wheelbarrow. Apparently that is a family tradition for his side of the family and some relatives back home were kind enough to drive a big wheelbarrow all the way out to Colorado so that he could partake in this family tradition. As the sun began to set Lindsay and Coty were kind enough to indulge me in a few more photos of the two of them together. I am so glad they did since the mountain views in this area were so dramatic and rugged. I love that the full moon came out early to be a part of a few of their portraits too. It was truly the perfect setting to celebrate with friends and family. When I left they were dancing the night away under the stars.
