elcome to the journal for April O’Hare Photography! Here you’ll find all of my latest photographic outings with the couples, families, seniors and small businesses that I get to work with and make beautiful photographs for. You may also see a personal post here and there discussing my life or my travels with my teeny family of one husband and three cats! Sometimes I even write advice articles with tips to help make your photo experience better which you can check out under the “Educational” category.

Take your time and look around! Type in the place where you’ll be getting married in the search box to see if I’ve photographed there before. At the bottom of the page I’ve highlighted some of my favorite sessions and weddings from the past. Grab a drink and have fun going down the photo rabbit hole!

Colorado Fall Wedding at Greenbriar Inn Restaurant in Boulder

December 21, 2017

Today on the blog I’m featuring the last wedding I photographed for the 2017 wedding season. Showcased in this post is Scott and Lisa and their beautiful lilac colored wedding from late fall at the Greenbriar Inn restaurant in North Boulder. The Greenbriar Inn is a famously delicious restaurant that makes for a gorgeous setting for a wedding as well as serving up some of the best food I’ve ever had in all of Boulder. With pretty views of the Boulder foothills from the property as well as the cozy romantic feel inside the restaurant it’s easy to see why Scott and Lisa chose this venue to host their nuptials on the last weekend of October.

Late October is traditionally a pretty chilly weekend here in Colorado with outdoor ceremonies not being a guarantee. Lisa and Scott prepped for a potentially cold wedding ceremony with custom wrapped soft blankets for guests to cuddle under during their ceremony. But luckily for the couple and guests it ended up being quite a gorgeous autumn day. I loved the way that they incorporated their children into the festivities by having them help light unity candles during the ceremony and by having a special dance with the whole family at their end of their first dance with each other. You can tell both parents love their kids enormously and the feelings are mutual.

They timed their ceremony to take place toward the end of the day when the sun was getting low in the sky and we used the last bit of light afterwards to incorporate the beautiful country inn setting of the Greenbriar for their wedding portraits. The reception was a perfect, laid-back affair with lots of good one on one time with their guests. And the DJ had everyone on the dance floor inside the Greenbriar’s atrium for most of the night. I am so happy for Scott and Lisa that they found each other. Congratulations to the sweet couple!

    Oh April,
What a wonderful surprise to see that you posted our beautiful pictures on your site. Not only are so unbelievably talented as shown in how you show our pure joy that day, but you were such a joy to have at our wedding. You knew exactly where to go and you we’re so kind. You blended into the festivities, perfectly. Thank you for creating such gorgeous memories for Scott and I and our children. I will be talking to you soon about Lauren’s wedding. A date is almost set!! Maybe we can do it all again! ❤️ Lisa
