Hudson Gardens Littleton Family Photography in Colorado
Littleton Family Photography at Hudson Gardens
There are a plethora of beautiful locations to create your Littleton family photography portraits, but one of my all time favorite locations is Hudson Gardens. It’s a huge beautiful garden location with many different parts to their park that are perfect for your family’s photo backdrops. I’ve been photographing this particular family for awhile, and when they showed up for this year’s session we were greeted by a huge gorgeous flowering tree with beautiful little purple flowers all over it’s drooping branches. So literally right at the front door of Hudson Gardens there is already a stunning nature backdrop to use in their family pictures.
Sadly, this family lost their dad earlier in the year. I struggled with whether I should say anything about that in this post, but my mom recently passed away so I felt like it was something I wanted to talk about a little bit. They’ve come to me for the past few years to create family portraits. I am so glad for them that they have some great family pictures that we created in years past that they now have to help keep his memory alive. As a family photographer, I should definitely know better than to put off family pictures but I suppose there is sometimes truth in that old saying about the Cobbler’s children having no shoes. I desperately wish we had more recent professional family photos with my mom. And I’m so glad that this is a family tradition that they wanted to keep despite the sadness from their loss this year.
Pretty Summer Garden Family Photo Location in Littleton, CO
Every year, we meet up in some beautiful location. In year’s past we’ve done mostly nature western outskirts of the metro area with mountain views. This year they wanted to try something a little different so we went with a garden setting. Hudson Gardens is one of my favorite locations for Littleton Family Photography. Obviously, it’s best during the months when things are growing outside so it’s not it’s best during a winter session, but for summer and fall season, it is gorgeous! In addition to all of the flowering trees and bushes during spring, it has a lovely oval garden on a grassy area to the north, and an even bigger grassy hilly area to the south where they do their summer concert series.
My favorite section has to be where the water features are located. There is a nice hidden pathway with tons of evergreen trees and other types of green bushes and foliage on the southeast side of the gardens. If you make your way to that section you’ll also discover that there is a lovely little waterfall and river. If you continue to make your way over into the southwest side of the gardens you’ll discover the prettiest little water lily garden and a nice meandering path full of tall wild grasses that are beautiful in photos. It’s quite a large place so give yourself a little extra time to discover all of the wonderful nooks and crannies that make a garden so special!
