While Stefan & Jess were hanging out with their groomsmen and bridesmaids down at the base of Mt. Werner, Gabby and I headed up the Gondola to scope out the venue (http://www.steamboat.com/weddings.aspx) and take a look around. If you ever need an idea for a nice daytrip to the mountains, I highly recommend taking a ride on the gondola where you can drool over the views and talk about how cool it would be to have a weekend house there:) At the top you can go on all sorts of hikes and later on after dark you can go skinny dipping at Strawberry Park Hot Springs like all of the cool kids (http://www.strawberryhotsprings.com/2005/). Plus google maps said it would take 3 hours and 15 min. to get there, but it only took maybe 2.5 hours. Could be that O’Hare’s are notorious for having lead feet in the car though.
Since we gave ourselves plenty of travel time we had a lot of time to hang out with the gals in their condo at the Highmark (http://www.highmarksteamboat.com/) and take photos of them preparing for the wedding. I am in love with so many of the photos we got during this time. It sure doesn’t hurt that Jess and all of her bridesmaids are such gorgeous gals! Meanwhile, my second shooter Kirsten (http://photography-kirsten.blogspot.com/) got to harass the boys with her camera over at the Phoenix Condos just down the street (http://www.thephoenixatsteamboat.com/). Thank you again to Kirsten for traveling from Longmont (my hometown!) to take pictures with us all day:)
Eventually the time came for us to head over to Concordia Lutheran Church (http://www.steamboatlutheran.org/) to put the dress on and I don’t know, GET MARRIED! Both Jess & Stefan looked amazing up on the altar. I swear Jess’s dress just sparkled. It was absolutely beautiful and you could just see how happy they both were to be there with each other. After a few family formals on the altar at the end of the ceremony, it was time to hop on the party shuttle and head up the Gondola. This is where I have to give huge props to Jess & Stefan and their entire bridal party. The rain only held off for a short while that day during our photo session on the mountain but they never let it ruin the party. I’m sure the drizzly Colorado rain seemed like nothing to Jess & Stefan since they live in Seattle, but I know there are a lot of brides out there that would probably be pretty upset about the weather. Not Jess! She was obviously too busy having the time of her life:)
After pictures, everyone was ready to finally just party and relax and they did both of these quite well! As the song of the evening goes, they danced, they laughed, and they had a REALLY REALLY REALLY good time! If you don’t believe me, check out these two links which feature the choreographed dance moves of one of the most fantastic bridal parties I’ve ever had the priviledge to photograph!
And be sure to check out all of the awesome vendors who helped to make this fantastic wedding happen!

One of my favorite captures that day. I just love how proud Jess’s dad looks in this one.
Who doesn’t love a pretty view while they get made up?
She did such a good job helping Jess with her super long veil
How cute is Jess?
Jess’s big sis gets her hair done
Jess’s other sister practices “The Dance.”
Jess practicing too!
Took some time to try out some fun ring shots.
Love that my fave photo of Jess that day was before she even stepped into her gown:)
Waited to put the dress on until we got to the church.
Look at those grins! How adorable:)
Words aren’t really necessary right?
Kissing the bride!
Top of the hill near the Gondola
What a gorgeous group of gals!
The whole bridal party
So pretty! (The girls and the view!)
Seriously, they must practice this! How did they all jump at the exact same height?
How awesome is her super long veil?
Stefan is super funny and nice. Jess is a lucky gal:)
Awww…they are so cute together!
Having fun in the rain:)
Gorgeous bride and groom, check. Evergreens and Aspens, check. Rustic wood fence, check, Blue mountain backdrop, check. This has gotta be the quintessential CO wedding photo:)
Who cares if you are getting rained on if you are in the arms of your loved one right?
Loving the cute ski run themed table decor:)
Jess’s reception sash matched her cake:)
I LOVE these!
Some words were spoken….
The proud Pops
Doesn’t this one just make your heart melt? Promise I’m not really that much of a sap, but this one makes me all teary-eyed!
When they told me a slideshow would be playing during the dances I had my doubts about how that would go down, but I LOVE all of the expressions I was able to catch because of it!
Did you watch the videos I posted above? If not, you really need to stop, go back and watch them. The pics don’t really do it justice!
Good times were definitely had. I haven’t seen a dance floor that packed for that long in quite awhile! Way to go party people:)
Apparently this is a classic Stefan shot!
Just one last cute one for fun!
