Snowy Winter Storm Family Photos in Beaver Creek Colorado
I’ve been a busy gal these past couple of weeks around Christmas. I just finished up 3 days of fighting the snow storms and holiday traffic to create a bunch of beautiful winter wonderland family portraits for my clients and today I’m kicking off a flurry of blog posts to come with a family I photographed in Beaver Creek. It’s been an extremely dry winter so far here in Colorado so having this winter storm come crashing in has been great for the moisture we so desperately need. But, it’s been less than great for trying to capture the mountain views since it’s been so overcast. I had a great mountain view location all picked out and ready to go for the family being featured on today’s blog post, but the storm had other plans for us. I attempted to stop by my mountain view location, but by the time I arrived, the weather was a complete white out. It was so bad I could barely see the road! I headed over to Beaver Creek resort to meet up with the family to see what we could catch for them around their hotel. Luckily for us, the white out storm decided to calm down for about 20 minutes or so and we managed to create these lovely photos for them in that time. As you can see in the photo with the Aspens, the storm did not stay calm for long and before we knew it, the wind was whipping up the flakes all around and visibility started to get bad again. The wind and the freezing cold finally got so bad that we ended the session. But, I am so grateful that it stayed calm long enough for us to catch at least a little bit of a mountain view for them! Check out my favorites below!
