Is there a hotel that screams old-school Denver more than the Brown Palace Hotel? I am hard pressed to think of another that has the reputation for luxury that the Brown Palace has cultivated here in Denver since 1892. Although it’s not the oldest hotel (that honor belongs to the Oxford Hotel built in 1891) it certainly has one of the best reputations for impeccable service and historic charm which the staff brings to all of their wedding celebrations. The Brown Palace Hotel has been hosting weddings for over 100 years in its unique 9 story triangle shaped building (this allowed all of it’s guest rooms to have a window). I absolutely love the way this hotel is set up. When you walk inside the doors to the hotel you’ll find yourself in a gorgeous open lobby in an atrium and when you look up, you can see all of the levels open up to the stained glass skylight on it’s ceiling. There’s even an artesian well 750 feet below the hotel that they still use to serve water. It’s truly a remarkable and breathtakingly beautiful hotel.
As of 2021, the Brown Palace Hotel does not share their wedding package prices online and you’ll need to contact them directly to request a custom quote for your wedding. However they do have their ceremony only prices for each of their venues which I’ve outlined below.
The Brown Palace Hotel has over 20,000 square feet of space available to rent for weddings. You’ll be able to host smaller affairs of just 50 people on up to larger grand celebrations of up to 350 guests. Below I’ve described some of the wedding venues they have available at this stunning downtown Denver hotel.
The Grand Ballroom is the largest room available for wedding celebrations at the Brown Palace with 5,800 square feet. This space is so far beyond your average sad hotel ballroom. Despite the enormous size, it has a really nice cozy feeling with it’s wall of modern warm wood panels and luxurious carpeting. But, I can’t stop looking at the gigantic crystal chandeliers hanging from the ceiling with all of their sparkly glory! You’ll be able to dance the night away with up to 350 guests. The ceremony site fee for the Grand Ballroom is $2,000.
The Central City Room at Brown Palace Hotel is a good mid-size venue for those hosting a more medium sized affair. It’s 2,150 square feet and you’ll be able to host between 80-140 guests. The ceremony site fee for the Central City Room is $1,500. This does not take into account the catering minimums for hosting a reception in this space.
The Onyx Room at the Brown Palace is such a sophisticated and light filled space. It’s probably the closest you’ll get to the feel of the Palace of Versailles with its beautiful ceiling fresco, beautiful patterned wallpaper, plush carpeting, and pretty chandeliers. The Onyx Room has 1,425 square feet and can accommodate up to 125 guests for a wedding ceremony (probably closer to 75 guests if you want to host a dinner reception in this space).
The Brown Palace Club is another great mid-sized wedding option at the Brown Palace Hotel. The room is located at the triangle corner so it has a bit of a narrow corner on one end which actually makes for a cool, natural area for a ceremony set up on that end. The colorful glass windows in this room help give it more of a historic flair. There is 3,080 square feet in the Brown Palace Club and it can host between 50-75 guests. There is a $750 ceremony fee for this space.
I’ve been a Denver wedding photographer since 2006 and have experience with photographing at the Brown Palace Hotel. I’d love the opportunity to chat with you about your wedding plans. Feel free to take a look at the WEDDINGS page of my site and then get in touch to tell me about yourselves!
Hosting a wedding at the Brown Palace takes a huge load off of your plate since they have so many great services right there on site that you can take advantage of when planning your wedding weekend. The Brown Palace Hotel offers a complimentary guest room for the couple for both the night of the wedding and conveniently, the night before too. They have a 4 star catering and have an in house pastry chef as part of their staff so creating a custom wedding cake right there at the Brown Palace is no problem. You can also take advantage of their in-house florist too. Conveniently, the Brown Palace Hotel also has a spa right there at the hotel so if you and your wedding party need some self care together prior to the wedding you can do it right there at the hotel.
