Cielo is a huge wedding venue tucked away in the forested area of Castle Pines which is about 30-35 minutes south of downtown Denver if there is no traffic. I’ve been photographing at Cielo at Castle Pines since the early days of becoming a wedding venue and I have always thought that it’s such a classy, beautiful place for weddings. The folks who run this place are really nice and have even let me book it for short time frames when I needed an indoor space for family portraits too. It has a lot going for it like the Pine Room which is their enormous open ballroom space with enough room for the largest of weddings. This nice open space has vaulted ceilings, a neutral color scheme, floor to ceiling windows that let in a ton of natural light and a really unique double sided fireplace made out of a cream colored stone that matches the pillars in the room. There is plenty of room to spread out in the space with room for a lot of tables and a dance floor too.
I love that Cielo also has totally separate getting ready spaces too. There is a tastefully decorated one on the lofted 3rd level with the walls lined with counters and mirrors with plenty of space to spread out as well as a nice double door that opens up to the outdoor fresh pine scented air. As someone who has spent a lot of time in the chaos of getting ready rooms, I can’t stress how nice it is to have some fresh air coming into the space which easily gets overheated with all of the hustle and bustle that happens prior to a wedding ceremony. There is also an enormous ground level space that can be used for getting ready as well and it’s far away from the upstairs getting ready space so you won’t have to worry about running into each other prior to the ceremony.
Speaking of the ceremony, I really love the way Cielo designed their outdoor ceremony space. You will walk out from the main building with it’s floor to ceiling windows and doors down the curved walk to the unique covered patio ceremony space. I love the pretty soft mint green color Cielo uses throughout the exterior of their building. It adds a nice touch of color without being overwhelming and blends nicely with the surrounding pine trees of this area. Because Cielo is built in Castle Pines, it’s a wedding venue that truly looks beautiful year round since it has a lot of Evergreen style trees that look just as nice during winter as summer. The outdoor space also has a feature waterfall pond which can be a nice backdrop for your wedding portraits depending on the time of day. They also have a way to open up the Pine Room to the outdoors so that if you run into weather issues on your wedding day and need to do an indoor wedding you’ll still have the fresh air coming in and nice nature views for you and your guests to enjoy. Cielo is only 10 minutes away from Daniels Park which has incredible views. This used to be a really great place to create portraits, but as of 2021, it’s a little trickier to get the epic shots that you can find online so your mileage may vary with using this spot for wedding photos when you get married at Cielo.
Most Colorado wedding venues charge for the use of their space based on the wedding date with the most popular times of year costing more than the off season and Cielo charges this way too.
