Grand Lake Family Photos at Point Park
In early August, Geoff and I took a random trip to the Twin Cities in Minnesota to check it out. We absolutely loved riding bikes all over both Minneapolis and Saint Paul. And about a month later I got to meet this awesome family who are from the Twin Cities when they were spending time together in Grand County to celebrate their parent’s golden wedding anniversary here in Colorado. Part of their family now lives in Steamboat (So lucky, I love Steamboat!) and they made the drive over to Granby to meet up with the rest of the family. I suggested Point Park because I really love that you can get such a beautiful mountain view there with the lake and it only takes a very short walk from the parking lot to get to it which is great for photoshoots. It’s one of my rare locations where the sun sets with the light shining onto the mountain so the colors can be really cool at this spot. But, it does make it a bit tricky to photograph since it can be really bright full sun right on their faces in the beginning of the session. So I like to get some pretty backlit sunshine streaming through the trees kind of photos while we wait for the light to get softer and prettier. Below are some of my favorites that we created that evening.
It’s now fall color season! If your family is looking to get some family photos created please take a look at the FAMILIES page of my site and reach out. I’d love to try and squeeze you in before the fall color fades!
