Hotel Monaco probably has my favorite room decor in all of the Denver hotel scene. The Hotel Monaco is located in a beautiful, historic building in Downtown Denver on Champa Street. Although it’s located inside a historic building, the rooms are large and the interior design is just the perfect blend of luxury meeting with quirky, bold accents. The windows let in a ton of natural light too so when I know I’ll be photographing couples as they prep for their wedding day at the Hotel Monaco, I’m always very pleased with what I have to work with there. The Hotel Monaco only hosts one wedding at a time if there are more than 75 guests attending so you don’t have to worry about sharing the space with another couple. They have 4,000 square feet of event space available to rent with enough room to accommodate up to 180 guests at a ceremony and up to 250 guests for a wedding reception. The catering at the Hotel Monaco in Denver is provided by their on-site restaurant, Panzano and you’ll get to create a custom wedding cake with their in-house pastry chef.
Your guests will love staying at the Hotel Monaco for your wedding in Denver. Most importantly, it’s a great location right in the heart of downtown and they’ll be able to walk (or use the 16th Street Free Mall Ride just a block south of the hotel) almost anywhere which makes it a great base for exploring all of the action in the downtown area. As I mentioned already, Hotel Monaco rooms are so stylish and they also have some pretty great amenities to go along with the hotel’s good looks. Every evening they host a social hour with wine, beer, and appetizers from Panzano. They also include bicycles, yoga mats, and a fitness center for those who want to keep up with their exercise routine while visiting. They were also one of the first Denver hotels to be pet-friendly before it was fashionable. They don’t even charge any extra fees and have dedicated floors for those traveling with their pets.
When you host your wedding at the Hotel Monaco, you can expect to spend between $95-$150 per person (35 person minimum) on your wedding package. If you were hoping to elope they have a great elopement package for you available on Sundays-Thursdays for $90 per person (with a 10 person minimum).
There is also a $150 bartender fee and you need one bartender for every 75 guests that you plan to host. You’ll spend between $6 and $11 for individual drinks, $40-$50 per bottle of wine and they have some really fun add on options like a coffee cart and a boozy milkshake bar. Be sure to visit the Hotel Monaco catering costs page of their website for more details about what they have to offer for your wedding day.
Hotel Monaco also has great room block perks for using Hotel Monaco to accommodate your out of town wedding guests even if you don’t host your wedding there. They offer a 1 pm late check out (so awesome for guests who want to sleep in after their late night celebrating at your wedding reception!) and a $10 “raid the mini bar” perk, and a discounted Suite upgrade for the wedding couple. And don’t forget, every evening they host an hour long cocktail hour for their hotel guests!
The Hotel Monaco in downtown Denver has a variety of options for hosting your various wedding weekend events. You can host a welcome reception or farewell brunch in the Wine Cellar or Panzanos and they even have indoor wedding ceremony spaces right there at the hotel if you want to keep it simple for you and your guests and keep everything right there on site.
The Paris Ballroom is Hotel Monaco’s largest wedding reception space at 37 x 60 feet in size. You’ll be able to host 250 people in this space. I like the classy, swirly designed wallpaper (it’s more subtle than it sounds!) but the drawback is that there is no natural light. Still, this is going to be the most classic wedding ballroom space available at the Hotel Monaco and you can fit the most amount of guests in this traditional ballroom location.
Panzano is the super stylish Italian restaurant located on the street level floor of the Hotel Monaco building. Being on the street level means you’ll get to have lots of good natural light coming in from the two walls of windows on the south and east sides of the restaurant. Panzano is a good option for those who are looking to host a dinner reception and don’t need a dance floor while being in a space that is not overly casual. You can buy out the entire Panzano restaurant for your wedding reception.
For the wine lovers out there, why not opt for the Wine Cellar at Hotel Monaco for your medium sized wedding reception? It’s a cool space with some brick walls mixed in next to a stone wall with wine art on its walls. The Wine Cellar is 740 square feet with the dimensions being 20x37 feet and you can host up to 80 guests inside. In my opinion, the only drawback is the lack of natural light but I think in this space it adds a more cozy feel to your wedding reception at Hotel Monaco.
I like the Toscana Room inside Panzano the best for small, intimate dinner receptions because it’s the only space at Hotel Monaco with natural light. It’s 364 square feet and a bit of a long narrow space at 13x28 feet and you’ll be able to host 35 people here. It’s a simple, elegant room with a wall of wine in a cupboard along the wall opposite the windows facing out toward the bustling downtown Denver city streets.
The Athens Board Room at Hotel Monaco is 13x25 feet with 325 square feet to work with and could work for a staging area or smaller wedding receptions. As with the Paris Ballroom, the interior decor features the same swirly yellow wallpaper and uses a Turmeric yellow color in the decor.
I hope this article all about weddings at the Hotel Monaco in Denver has given you a good idea of what you can expect when hosting your wedding at this stylish hotel.
