Rock Music Themed Bar Mitzvah at Wings Over the Rockies

Wings over the Rockies Rock Star Bar Mitzvah Party in Denver

I am so excited to share today’s journal entry because it’s for this very talented young man who just had his bar mitzvah a few weeks ago. Walt is a very gifted young man who had his band mates join him in performing some songs at his bar mitzvah party which was held at Wings Over the Rockies in the Lowry town center area of Denver. My Alt-Girl Xennial heart just loved that they were playing songs that were popular when I was a teenager in the 90s. The crowd loved them so much that they begged for an encore and they were able to perform the Pixies “Where is my Mind” which they said they had just learned on the fly which was pretty impressive.

Earlier that day, we met at Temple Emanuel to photograph Walt with his family and with the Torah prior to his service. It’s been such a warm winter that we were able to photograph lots of the photos in their pretty ivy covered courtyard space. That evening, the party was held at the Air & Space museum called Wings Over the Rockies and it was decked out with purple and black decor with a rock music theme. It was fun to see which bands were selected for the records on the table centerpieces. The highlight of the evening was definitely seeing all of these young musicians rock out with everyone cheering them on! I think they are definitely going places.

Mazel Tov, Walt! I hope to catch you rocking out with your guitar again someday!
