Red Rocks Trading Post Backyard Wedding on a Stormy Summer Evening
I am so lucky that I’ve had couples trusting me with the timing of their smaller wedding days this year. Today I get to share a smaller, more intimate wedding I was lucky enough to photograph at Red Rocks. Chris and Sharon and I chatted on the phone about their wedding that evening when they were first looking to book and we timed it so that we could capture most of their photos as close to sunset as possible. It ended up not being as big of a deal on their day since it was a little stormy that evening. The clouds and sky definitely ended up looking much worse than it really was. Very little rain actually fell and we mostly got to enjoy the cooler temperature from the cloud coverage. We photographed most of their family pictures before the ceremony began so that afterward, they could get dinner started with their guests right away. After Sharon’s oldest son gave a speech they ran away with me to capture a few pretty portraits along the trail. It was right about sunset when I got them back to their reception and we photographed them dancing under the pretty string lights before their wedding day coverage ended. It was a really sweet wedding and the photos ended up looking especially gorgeous being so close to sunset. Below is just a tiny fraction of my favorites from the day!
