Summer Vacation Family Photos near Snowmass Village Colorado
As a Snowmass Village family photographer I am so excited to share the latest family pictures I had the opportunity to create in that area of Colorado. This family has the opportunity to spend some time together as a family in Snowmass while the work from home trend continues due to Covid-19. So they figured why not beat the heat and spend some time at the higher altitude where you can at least catch some cool air in the evenings. I love that this has become an opportunity for some families to slow down from the everyday rat race and really get to spend some quality time together.
Maroon Lake is one of the best Snowmass Village Family Photography Locations!
We decided to head over to Maroon Bells Lake to capture their family portraits in the Snowmass Village area. This beautiful and iconic Colorado mountain location isn’t far from Snowmass which is their homebase for a little bit. We even got to see a beaver swimming in the lake dragging a big piece of wood over to the dam he was constructing. It’s been a long time since I’ve seen a beaver in the wild so that was really cool to see. The weather was looking a little threatening with some dark clouds, but luckily we didn’t get rain or bad winds. Nothing kills a family photography session more than too much wind in my opinion, so I was grateful for the calm evening we experienced. The views were gorgeous as they always are here, and this family was so great in front of the camera that it made our session even better. They were really kind and open about going along with all of my silly attempts to get them to laugh and smile which I appreciate. We made sure to catch lots of different family combinations and I even got to focus the camera on their youngest daughter some more because she will be a senior this school year and wanted to get some nice Colorado senior portraits created at their family session. So while her big sis and dad started heading back to the car we caught some great ones of her by herself.
