elcome to the journal for April O’Hare Photography! Here you’ll find all of my latest photographic outings with the couples, families, seniors and small businesses that I get to work with and make beautiful photographs for. You may also see a personal post here and there discussing my life or my travels with my teeny family of one husband and three cats! Sometimes I even write advice articles with tips to help make your photo experience better which you can check out under the “Educational” category.

Take your time and look around! Type in the place where you’ll be getting married in the search box to see if I’ve photographed there before. At the bottom of the page I’ve highlighted some of my favorite sessions and weddings from the past. Grab a drink and have fun going down the photo rabbit hole!

Autumn Senior Photos at Denver Botanic Gardens

October 13, 2024

Senior Photos During October at Denver Botanic Gardens

Today I have a very special young lady featured on the blog. I was Ana’s nanny way back in the day. The exact years are fuzzy (maybe 2007ish-2009ish?) I was still building up my photography business and working with her was one of my last jobs I had before I went full time as a photographer. I just had to look up these old photos of her when she was a tiny little one posing for me in these frilly pettiskirts. Geoff and I even asked for her and her sister Julia to be in our wedding as part of our gaggle of flower girls! I was so excited when Ana and her family reached out to see if I would be interested in photographing her senior photos. After my initial shock that it’s already been so long and that she’s a senior now, I obviously was thrilled to get to photograph these for her.  We went to Denver Botanic Gardens on an extremely warm day (sidenote, can sweater weather PLEASE come soon?!) earlier this month to capture these for her. The gardens close way before sunset during the month of October so we had to do these with the sun much higher in the sky than I typically would prefer. But, the gardens are so pretty that I think it’s worth fighting the bright sun a little bit to photograph in their spaces. It was amazing to get to see what a beautiful, smart young lady she has become. She may be a little older and much taller now, but I still recognized that adorable smile and twinkle in her eye right away! Below are my personal favorites that we created together that day.

Here she is being one of my first models:)

If you’re a senior needing your senior photos, please take a look at the SENIORS page of my website and reach out. I might still have some availability before your yearbook deadline.
