Carbondale Colorado Bat Mitzvah Weekend Celebration

October 22, 2024

Colorful Vintage Rock Star Bat Mitzvah Party Photography in Carbondale, CO

I’m super excited to finally get to share these photos on the journal today. It was almost a year ago that I was contacted by this young lady’s mom about photographing her bat mitzvah in Carbondale, Colorado. In her very first email to me she said that Vivienne was a songwriter and musician who loved the Beatles and knew she wanted retro vibes with doc martens, color, and music so I knew this would be a really awesome party. I have to say, with the help of their awesome planner, Jenny from Stargazed Weddings and Events, they really threw one of the most incredible shindigs I’ve ever photographed. The retro music, colorful vibes were spot on throughout the decor and one of the best parts was the red carpet rock star entrance to the party held at the Brass Anvil. Guests were arriving and being interviewed about what they were wearing while my husband Geoff and I did our best to act like the paparazzi. It was very fun and the perfect way to start off the party. But,I am getting a little bit ahead of myself here. This family actually had me come out to cover the Friday evening welcome dinner as well and I’m so glad we did that too because we got some really cute photos there of them with their family who traveled from out of town to be there and celebrate this very special occasion with Vivienne. Saturday morning was of course the service and the reason we were all gathered to witness Vivienne lead the service as a bat mitzvah. She did a wonderful job and I particularly loved when she removed her boots to play an original song she created on the piano as well as her speech. Afterward guests enjoyed a beautiful sunny kiddush luncheon right there at the Aspen Chapel. It was a gorgeous weekend filled with so much love and it was a pleasure to get to photograph such an amazingly talented young lady for her bat mitzvah!

Mazel, Vivienne!
