Colorado Boho Wedding
I have the prettiest little Colorado boho wedding to share on the journal today. As I sit here with the WFTDA championship tournament playing in the background (that stands for Women’s Flat Track Derby Association, fyi) I am struck by the coincidence that I have yet another awesome derby girl wedding to share today. Denver has a strong roller derby presence and I’ve had to pleasure of meeting so many great ladies while playing the game. Tara is one of those great people. I met her through the Rocky Mountain Rollergirls derby league. Back then, a lot of our skaters had a pretty impressive and supportive group of partners who would come to games and have fun cheering and drinking on the sidelines. Tara’s man, Ryan came to the warehouse to partake in the shenanigans and was always a big supporter of her skating hobby. As Ryan’s friend mentioned at the wedding, he’s a hopeless romantic and it’s so great that he finally met a girl who was deserving of his attention. It was sweet to see the love between these two on their wedding day.
Pretty boho wedding decor for a woodsy Colorado wedding ceremony
It was a pretty epic day too. It began by getting ready at the Bear Creek Cabins in Evergreen where we had the first look by Bear Creek and also did a handful of portraits before the party bus from Elite Rides came to pick up the crew and transport them to the ceremony at Beaver Ranch in Conifer. Tara worked hard on the boho décor for her wedding ceremony and I absolutely loved the beautiful macramé arch topped with floral that matched all of the bridesmaid’s bouquets. She also spent hours creating the pretty boho ribbon banner that lined the wood deck for her ceremony. It had a lovely Colorado bohemian wedding in the woods feel to it. I also thought it was a pretty cool touch when their officiant held a copy of Music of the Cosmos vinyl record as his makeshift clipboard.
Off the beaten path bohemian style wedding reception in Denver
After the ceremony, there was a short mini-reception with snacks and drinks in the mountain meadow next to their ceremony space. After a quick break and a handful of portraits we continued on to Meyer Ranch just down highway 285 to take advantage of all the gorgeous fall color in the Aspen Meadow there. After an afternoon of portraits, the wedding party was a bit pooped so they opted to head over to the reception at Balistreri Vineyard Event Center in north Denver and relax as guests began to show up for the party. This Denver winery is a really cool venue for a wedding reception. They have lots of pretty string lights and a huge back lawn with gardens lining the edges of it. Being the fun couple that they are, Tara and Ryan started the party off with a conga line as they made their grand entrance. They opted for a casual dinner with guests choosing a food truck and finishing off dinner with some ice cream from the Petey Bird cart. The Balistreri wine and Ratio Beerworks beer was flowing throughout the night and guests partied hard on the outdoor dance floor under the stars. Congratulations to Tara and Ryan!
Love this one!
