elcome to the journal for April O’Hare Photography! Here you’ll find all of my latest photographic outings with the couples, families, seniors and small businesses that I get to work with and make beautiful photographs for. You may also see a personal post here and there discussing my life or my travels with my teeny family of one husband and three cats! Sometimes I even write advice articles with tips to help make your photo experience better which you can check out under the “Educational” category.

Take your time and look around! Type in the place where you’ll be getting married in the search box to see if I’ve photographed there before. At the bottom of the page I’ve highlighted some of my favorite sessions and weddings from the past. Grab a drink and have fun going down the photo rabbit hole!

Colorado Mountain Family Photography | Aspen Tree Grove in Kremmling

July 13, 2016

There is something so special about bringing your whole family together on a vacation as adults. Everyday life is so fast paced that it’s really nice to slow down and come together with your loved ones to enjoy a little rest and relaxation. And when it’s on Grandma and Grandpa’s incredible ranch land in Kremmling, Colorado it’s downright magical. The whole family piled into a fleet of ATV’s and took off for the open fields of wildflowers and a beautiful aspen tree grove. Luckily there is a whole posse of photographers in the family who actually do this for a living too back home in Indiana. They already had the vision for where they wanted to take their family photos and had already scoped it out so they were totally prepared for the session. I was too busy posing and figuring out what would look best at the time, but when I went to retouch the photos I noticed that there is a huge bird’s nest in the trees in the background for some of the photos which I think is really neat. We didn’t see any wildlife during the photo session, but the family did tell me about the elk, moose, and even a bear that they had seen during their stay. And since it’s a ranch they have access to a stable of horses that they can ride while they out here on vacation. It really was a special place and I hope they had a blast hanging out with each other in the great outdoors of Colorado. I’m inspired to see if I can make something like this happen with my family now!
