Here you’ll find all of my latest photographic outings with the couples, families, seniors and small businesses that I get to work with and make beautiful photographs for. You may also see a personal post here and there discussing my life or my travels with my teeny family of one husband and three cats! Sometimes I even write advice articles with tips to help make your photo experience better which you can check out under the “Educational” category.

Take your time and look around! Type in the place where you’ll be getting married in the search box to see if I’ve photographed there before. Colorado Wedding Photography | Mountain Wedding at BlueSky Breckenridge

October 2, 2017

I have been so excited to share the photos from Alex and Ryan’s beautiful Colorado wedding at BlueSky Breckenridge which took place earlier this September. Alex is a wedding photographer herself out in Iowa so she knew what to expect and had her day planned out extremely well which translated into lots of good photography time to create portraits with their best friends and family. We started off the day at BlueSky Breckenridge hotel in the Tyra Snowflake neighborhood. After capturing some of the preparations (including a sweet photo of Alex’s besties seeing her in her gown for the first time) we did some first look pictures both with Dad and with Ryan. I loved seeing the emotion on Ryan’s face as he saw his stunning bride for the first time.

Alex made sure to schedule some photo time with just her and Ryan after this so we made our way over to Sapphire Point and the docks at Lake Dillon for some gorgeous photos with the mountains in the backdrop. We made our way back over to BlueSky to finish up the formal portraits with the family and the wedding party and finished up all of it before the ceremony began. That meant that Alex and Ryan got to enjoy their cocktail hour with all of their guests which I think is particularly nice when it is a destination wedding and everyone has traveled so far to be there to celebrate with the bride and groom.

It turned out to be a wonderful party with awesome speeches and toasts and a pretty epic dance party too. A highlight of the evening was when Alex performed Salt N Pepa’s song, “Shoop” to the crowd’s delight. And the cherry on top for this wedding celebration was the fact that BlueSky Breckenridge allowed for a sparkler exit to cap off the evening. Here in Colorado that’s pretty rare and always makes for a pretty photo to end the evening. Below I’ve shared some highlights from their spectacular Colorado wedding day!

Be sure to take a look at the WEDDINGS area of my site to find more information about wedding photography!
