elcome to the journal for April O’Hare Photography! Here you’ll find all of my latest photographic outings with the couples, families, seniors and small businesses that I get to work with and make beautiful photographs for. You may also see a personal post here and there discussing my life or my travels with my teeny family of one husband and three cats! Sometimes I even write advice articles with tips to help make your photo experience better which you can check out under the “Educational” category.

Take your time and look around! Type in the place where you’ll be getting married in the search box to see if I’ve photographed there before. At the bottom of the page I’ve highlighted some of my favorite sessions and weddings from the past. Grab a drink and have fun going down the photo rabbit hole!

Denver Botanic Gardens Proposal Photos at Blossoms of Light

January 3, 2013

Denver Botanic Gardens Proposal Photos During Winter Holidays at Blossoms of Light

I have some magical pretty little Denver Botanic Gardens Proposal Photos created at the annual Blossoms of Light event to share on the journal today. The Blossoms of Light is an immersive holiday light display that Denver Botanic Gardens switches out every year and has become a favorite holiday season activity for families in the Denver area.

These special people featured in these Blossoms of Lights pictures today are part of my family. Brandon is my little brother-in-law and he decided he wanted to propose to his girlfriend Lauren over Christmas break and he asked if I might be able to photograph it for them. These two good looking people met while attending Eastern Washington University in Cheney. Brandon is one of the star wide receivers for the Eagles and Lauren attends with a soccer scholarship. They have an adorable chocolate lab named Moose and now they get to make their little family official:)

The Denver Botanic Gardens with their holiday light display made the perfect backdrop for a beautiful winter wonderland proposal setting. We came up with a cover story that I needed them to pose for me for a few photos for my portfolio and Brandon told Lauren they were going to go to a nice dinner afterward so they were all dressed up for that. After I put them into a nice location, Brandon got down on one knee and presented his grandmother’s ring to Lauren who swears it was all a surprise for her:) We walked around for a little after the proposal photos took place capturing a few more engagement photos for them. I particularly love that we found a mistletoe for them to kiss under.
Congratulations you two little lovebirds!
xoxo
