elcome to the journal for April O’Hare Photography! Here you’ll find all of my latest photographic outings with the couples, families, seniors and small businesses that I get to work with and make beautiful photographs for. You may also see a personal post here and there discussing my life or my travels with my teeny family of one husband and three cats! Sometimes I even write advice articles with tips to help make your photo experience better which you can check out under the “Educational” category.

Take your time and look around! Type in the place where you’ll be getting married in the search box to see if I’ve photographed there before. At the bottom of the page I’ve highlighted some of my favorite sessions and weddings from the past. Grab a drink and have fun going down the photo rabbit hole!

Denver Wedding Photography | Church Ranch Event Center in Westminster

September 19, 2017

I met Katie and Ryan when I photographed his cousin Alex’s wedding a couple of years ago. I even got to photograph him and his family again when they were celebrating his grandparent’s 60th wedding anniversary a few years ago. We got the whole family together for some portraits up in Greeley to commemorate that huge milestone in their lives. We also did their engagement photos last fall at South Mesa Trail so when I showed up to photograph their wedding they were no strangers to posing in front of my camera. They prepped for the day just a few minutes away from their wedding venue at the Denver Marriott Westminster hotel in a couple of suites with great natural light pouring in from the floor to ceiling windows.

Just down the street is the Church Ranch Event Center where Katie and Ryan held their wedding celebration. The venue is gorgeous from the inside out. There are aspen trees and the grounds are covered with beautiful plants and water features. The outdoor ceremony space has to be one of the largest I’ve seen and can host hundreds of guests. Indoors the ceilings are draped with white fabric and plenty of twinkle lights for great ambiance. Katie and Ryan opted to wait to see each other at the ceremony when she walked down the aisle so we did some of the bride and bridesmaid portraits before the ceremony began and waited until after the ceremony to finish up the rest. Before the ceremony began it started to rain so the guests fled their seats to take cover under the surrounding trees and umbrellas. After a brief rain delay they were able to complete their sweet wedding ceremony. It was a lovely day for a wedding and Ryan and Katie were beaming all day! It was such a blast to photograph them again!

Be sure to take a look at the WEDDINGS page of my site to find more information!
