Extended Family Pictures During Summer with Red Rocks Backdrop
If you’ve been reading my journal for awhile, you might think some of the people in these photos look familiar. That’s because I was lucky enough to photograph Ashley and Michael’s wedding a few years ago at the Denver courthouse. Since that happy day, their family has grown and there are now grandkids in this good-looking family! The oldest grandchild in this bunch is a total hoot. They wanted to get some updated family photos for their mom and were originally thinking of doing them at Red Rocks. However, now that the pandemic is a little bit more under control, Red Rocks is back to a heavy schedule so I convinced them to give the East Mount Falcon Trailhead a shot instead. I love that you can still get the famous Red Rock formations in the backdrop here, but it’s much quieter with not as many crowds as the world-famous amphitheater draws every summer. It was so nice to get to spend a couple of hours exploring the trails and enjoying the gorgeous wildflowers with Ashley and her family. Since she got married, she started a CSA called Paper Kite Farm and if you are lucky enough to get on her list, her veggies are awesome! I’m glad she was able to take some time away from the hard work of growing her plants to get these photos created with her family. Below are only a tiny fraction of my favorites we got that night. As you can see, it was a beautiful evening!
If you’re thinking about scheduling a family photo day, be sure to take a look at the FAMILIES page of my site and get in touch. I’d love to help!
