elcome to the journal for April O’Hare Photography! Here you’ll find all of my latest photographic outings with the couples, families, seniors and small businesses that I get to work with and make beautiful photographs for. You may also see a personal post here and there discussing my life or my travels with my teeny family of one husband and three cats! Sometimes I even write advice articles with tips to help make your photo experience better which you can check out under the “Educational” category.

Take your time and look around! Type in the place where you’ll be getting married in the search box to see if I’ve photographed there before. At the bottom of the page I’ve highlighted some of my favorite sessions and weddings from the past. Grab a drink and have fun going down the photo rabbit hole!

Gore Creek Family Photos in Vail

September 4, 2021

Gore Creek Family Photos in Vail Village

I met this extremely photogenic family for some Gore Creek family photos while they were on their annual summer vacation in Vail. At first I sent them some location ideas that were further away from Vail Village, but in the end they wanted to stick to this area and get some with Gore Creek near the place where they always stay since it has a sentimental value for them. They’ve been coming to Vail for many years now and it’s truly become a home away from home for this family. It was really special to capture these beautiful family photos for them in some of the pretty locations around Vail Village.

Vail Village Family Photo Locations

We started off near their condo with it’s beautiful exterior and then walked over to the charming Vail Interfaith Chapel which has a particularly charming exterior and beautiful gardens.  It’s right next to Gore Creek too which always looks lovely in family photos. We made our way back toward the more commercial part of Vail Village, while capturing pretty garden backdrops. I loved that they wanted to stop near Checkpoint Charlie (an information outpost for visitors and residents of Vail) and get a beautiful photo of Vail Village with the belltower and Red Peak mountain off in the distance. That block is quite busy, but all of the hustle and bustle of that street full of shopping destinations and restaurants is definitely part of the charm.I particularly love the beautiful area we found along Gore Creek near the pretty, rustic “Covered Bridge.” We stopped here to get some fun photos of them barefoot in the river before ending our evening closer to the International Bridge part of Vail Village. This was an extremely successful Gore Creek Family photography session and I can’t wait to photograph more families in this beautiful part of Colorado!
