Arapahoe Basin Ski Resort is a classic mountain wedding venue with a really lovely wood mountain chalet for hosting your Colorado wedding ceremony and reception. As an Arapahoe Basin wedding photographer I thought it would be fun to write about some of my favorite features of one of my favorite ski resort wedding venues in Colorado. A really fun part of hosting your wedding at Arapahoe Basin Ski Resort is that depending on the weather, your guests will get to enjoy a chairlift ride up to your wedding celebration. (During foul weather when it’s unsafe to run the ski lift, they’ll be transported up the mountain via shuttle bus) Arapahoe Basin SKi Resort Weddings are for couples who care about sharing the beautiful mountain views and rugged landscape with their friends and family.
Your wedding guests will get the full A Basin ski resort experience when riding the Black Mountain Express ski lift allowing everyone to arrive in style for your wedding. They'll be able to take in some of the area’s most incredible views and enjoy the surrounding nature on their peaceful ride up the mountain to reach the Black Mountain Lodge. During the warmer months, the fields of wildflowers surrounding A-Basin's Black Mountain Lodge (as well as the stunning mountain views of course) is a photographer’s dream! The scenery is sure to have your guests talking about your A Basin wedding for a long time to come. And don't be put off by colder weather at a Arapahoe Basin Lodge wedding, during spring and winter the snow covered scenery will take your breath away! Abasin Resort is one of Colorado's best mountain ski resort wedding venues. I think it’s probably the best budget Colorado ski resort wedding venue you’ll find. It's definitely one of the highest Colorado wedding venues at 11,500 feet above sea level. And although the elevation is high, this Colorado ski resort wedding prices aren't. Arapahoe Basin Wedding costs really aren't bad especially when compared with other Colorado ski areas. It's one of many beautiful wedding venues near Keystone and Arapahoe Basin events are truly one of a kind that your guests will never forget! Unfortunately, the folks running the show for Arapahoe Basin weddings do not share exact wedding prices online so you’ll need to get in touch with them directly for a wedding quote.
There are a few different wedding venue options at A-Basin with the most popular being Arapahoe Basin Black Mountain Lodge weddings. I’ve done my best to describe all of your options for hosting weddings and other events at the A-Basin Ski Resort in Colorado in the section below.
The Black Mountain Lodge is a modern lodge style wedding venue at Arapahoe Basin Ski Resort with the perfect amount of rustic atmosphere located at 11,550 feet above sea level. This gorgeous wedding venue boasts vaulted ceilings and beautiful views from its enormous picture windows. Black Mountain Lodge wedding receptions are the perfect mix of modern style meeting rustic charm with pretty string lights hanging overhead in it’s wide open airy spaces.You’ll be able to host up to 200 guests at the Black Mountain Lodge.
Outside of the Arapahoe ski lodge on the sunny south side of the building, there is a huge deck that looks out over a gorgeous field of wildflowers with views of the incomparable Continental Divide. Truly, some of the most beautiful wedding ceremonies I’ve photographed have been on this large deck at Arapahoe Basin. It is the perfect space for a mountainside ceremony and cocktail hour. It honestly really does not get any better than a ceremony at an A Basin Wedding.
ABasin weddings also has a smaller newly renovated option in the A-Frame building at the base of the mountain for smaller private events. This location is called the 6th Alley Bar and Grill and has room for up to 100 guests. This area can be used for rehearsal dinners depending on availability.
The 2nd floor of the A-frame lodge at the base of Arapahoe Basin is called Marnie’s and can host smaller, more intimate events of up to 55 guests. This space is open to the floor below looking down on the 6th Alley Bar & Grill and has access to the Perch. It’s automatically included with your rental of 6th Alley Bar & Grill or can be rented separately. It also has its own small private bar.
There is a section of the A-Frame building at the base of the mountain called The Perch which is an outdoor venue protected from the weather on the south side of the building. The Perch can host 100 people for more laid back events such as welcome dinners for wedding weekends. This is also the area where the Arapahoe Basin wedding shuttle bus will drop off your guests.
Arapahoe Basin weddings should be high on the list of venues to look into for any couple thinking about hosting an affordable ski resort wedding in Colorado.
