Backyard Lesbian Wedding in the Mountains of Colorado
I am super excited to share this gorgeous backyard lesbian wedding in the Colorado mountains with the world today! I am so excited to share these images because they feature two of the most wonderful humans I’ve met in the past few years. Terra aka Honey Bunches of Chokes and her lady Traci aka Catcher in the Thigh both moved out to Colorado from Arizona a few years ago. At first, it was just Terra who was skating and she made the right choice to come to the Rocky Mountain Rollergirls. At the time, I was one of the trainers for our league and we would take turns running a Sunday afternoon basic skating class for girls who were interested in trying out. Traci decided she might want to give this whole roller derby thing a try so she started coming to those skating classes that we called “Derby Days.” I quickly grew to love her sweet disposition and hilarious personality. I was a little scared of Chokes at first because she reminded me of someone else I once knew but once I got to know her I realized she was a total doll as well. I recently decided to hang up my skates to pursue other adventures in life and I am so pleased that Terra was my captain for my last season and I got to skate with Traci on the travel team as well.
Blue and Yellow Themed Wedding Photos in Colorado
These two have been engaged for quite awhile so I was thrilled for them when they came up to me to let me know they had picked a date only 3 months away and wanted to know if I had it available. I’m so thankful that I did because it was an honor for me to capture their love on camera on one of the best days of their life. Their families and some of their friends came all the way out from Arizona and it was a crowd full of derby people which I love. And Traci’s best friend Chelse (who she also met in derby!) and her family were so generous by hosting the celebration at their beautiful home in Conifer. They made it one of the most incredibly beautiful backyard lesbian weddings I’ve seen! It’s hard to believe they planned such a beautiful ceremony and reception in such a short amount of time but it just goes to show what you can do when you have the love and support of so many people. They said their vows in the front yard with all of these people there to witness and partied into the night in the backyard where they had built a wood dance floor decorated with beautiful string lights to illuminate it. One of the best parts of the party was when they gave a nod to the way that they met and what has become such a big part of their lives by roller skating their first dance together.
Traci & Terra,
Wow, you did it! I’m amazed and impressed by you two so often and it did not surprise me that you created such a wonderful wedding day together with all of your family and friends. I look forward to photographing you two through more of the joy that this life will surely bring to you. I am so grateful that we met and became friends.
Love you both!
Congratulations!
