elcome to the journal for April O’Hare Photography! Here you’ll find all of my latest photographic outings with the couples, families, seniors and small businesses that I get to work with and make beautiful photographs for. You may also see a personal post here and there discussing my life or my travels with my teeny family of one husband and three cats! Sometimes I even write advice articles with tips to help make your photo experience better which you can check out under the “Educational” category.

Take your time and look around! Type in the place where you’ll be getting married in the search box to see if I’ve photographed there before. At the bottom of the page I’ve highlighted some of my favorite sessions and weddings from the past. Grab a drink and have fun going down the photo rabbit hole!

Stormy Colorado Mountain Wedding | Vista Overlook at Steamboat Springs Resort

August 28, 2016

Whoo hoo, I just finished up the retouching for Sarah and Mitch’s beautiful wedding which I can finally share on the journal. It was truly a beautiful day with the sun and the storm competing for the sky which makes for a very dramatic backdrop for their wedding pictures. Sarah prepped for her big day at her parent’s house in Steamboat with their sweet doggies keeping us all company. The sky opened up and poured down an epic rainstorm while she was in the make up chair and we figured that would be the end of that. When we made our way up the mountain in the gondola we noticed some dark clouds off in the distance that were heading our way. They managed to finish their simple and sweet ceremony in time but we were only able to get through a few of the formal photos up there before the lightning scared us off. Luckily we found a few places around Aurum restaurant where their reception was held to finish up the group photos and the Yampa River at sunset made for some very pretty photos too. Sarah and Mitch looked so happy to not only be getting married but to be spending such a lovely day with their closest friends and family too.

So hard to pick a favorite but this one is up there:)

I have more information about weddings over at the WEDDINGS page of my site
