Boulder Family Photographer
As a Boulder family photographer, I’m pretty excited to share the pictures from this cute Chautauqua Park session from the other day. Kristen called me up in early August because they were visiting family in the Boulder area and they were hoping to get some pictures taken together before they had to head home to California. I was so thankful that I was able to squeeze them in that weekend that she called because they were such a great family to photograph. Part of the family still lives in the area and they really wanted to get their pictures taken at Chautauqua Park since so many of them in the family had attended the University of Colorado in Boulder. Anyone from the area knows that getting that Flatiron mountain backdrop is one of the most coveted photos to get since those mountains loom over the city and you see them everyday.
Boulder Family Pictures in a Summer Garden with Flatiron Mountain Views
I always schedule around sunset for the pretty light and this day was no different. At Chautauqua, I sometimes like to begin the session up the hill behind the Dining Hall where you can find pretty trails and a really nice garden section too. We started the evening off in that garden area where the sunlight was still peeking through the trees. As the sun dipped behind those big mountains we made our way over to the open field next to the Ranger Cottage in front of the Flatirons to get that iconic view for the family. I really had a great time with this family. The kids all had a ton of energy and we got to play a few games and make it more than just a photography session.
