Golden Colorado High School Senior Photography at First Tunnel Walk at Clear Creek Canyon

Senior Photos with River Backdrop in Golden Colorado

I’m pleased to share these senior photos with river backdrop from Golden on the journal today. I first met Amelia when we photographed her extended family together in Boulder earlier this summer. They were all in town spending time as a family and decided to get some family pictures taken since some of them had traveled quite far to all be in one place at the same time. During that session we were able to catch some individual portraits of some of the family as the sun was fading. Amelia decided it might be fun to actually get some senior photos taken before she heads off to college. She was actually leaving quite soon after we did the family portraits so we made sure to squeeze her in before she and her mom set off on their road trip to the Pacific Northwest where she’ll be going to school.

Mountain River Senior Portraits

I had a great time with her at the session. I’ve really been enjoying the scenery and privacy at the First Tunnel Walk in Clear Creek Canyon which is only about a mile into the mountains from Golden. You can get a really pretty mountain stream as a backdrop for the senior pictures and the trees growing along the path make for some gorgeous scenery for portraits. And it’s not nearly as crowded along Clear Creek here as it is in town.

Amelia is a very talented young lady. She brought her violin and played some music from memory and she’s also planning to study filmmaking and writing at her new school. I am so excited for her to begin her new path in life. Heading off to college is definitely one of the most memorable and exciting times in any person’s life in my opinion. It can be a tough transition heading into adulthood, but nothing beats that sense of adventure as you begin “real life.” Luckily for her, she’s going to have her best friend by her side as her roommate and I’m sure they’re going to have a lot of fun together as they grow and experience new things.

Amelia, good luck on your first year out of the family home. I know you are going to crush it!
