elcome to the journal for April O’Hare Photography! Here you’ll find all of my latest photographic outings with the couples, families, seniors and small businesses that I get to work with and make beautiful photographs for. You may also see a personal post here and there discussing my life or my travels with my teeny family of one husband and three cats! Sometimes I even write advice articles with tips to help make your photo experience better which you can check out under the “Educational” category.

Take your time and look around! Type in the place where you’ll be getting married in the search box to see if I’ve photographed there before. At the bottom of the page I’ve highlighted some of my favorite sessions and weddings from the past. Grab a drink and have fun going down the photo rabbit hole!

Chautauqua Boulder Colorado Engagement Photography

December 8, 2012

Matt & Ashley are getting married in Colorado Springs next summer and were considering doing a snowy winter engagement session but we were  blessed with some amazingly warm weather on the day of their session.  I was a little concerned that Chautauqua would be dead but  we actually found a ton of color.  I’ve already gone on and on about how I’m not a winter person so I was obviously pleased to be working in such nice conditions.  And even though we didn’t get the snow they were envisioning I think they will be pleased too once they see how gorgeous they look in the photos.

The colors in this session are so breathtaking! How lucky to find that in the winter. The set of 4 of them (especially the one of her looking up at him) stopped me in my tracks. I went back to look again, and it takes something special to do that! The ring detail shot is also so well executed and lovely!

  2. sally says:

wow, what gorgeous mountains! I wouldn’t get tired of them, either! And a beautiful couple and I love how you seamlessly blended the colors in their clothing to the beautiful surroundings. The tones are all so perfect. I also think that closeup of the ring is a great perspective.

  3. Louise says:

These are stunning! I love the ones that show the mountain in the background and the ring shot is very clever. Beautiful worl 🙂

April, I love these! The 1st one and the ones of them laying down in the grass are amazing. Such a beautiful couple too! Really nice engagement session!!

That mountain shot is breathtaking! Love the colors in these. It looks like colder weather but with nice deep colors.

Wow! Gorgeous location! The ones laying in the grass are perfect! What an adorable couple!
