I had a super fun time photographing the family featured on the journal today. I met up with them at the gigantic parking area at the entrance of highway 6 in Golden which was already full of cars. We decided to drive up together in the same car just in case there wasn’t much parking up at the trailhead we were going to which was a good idea since it was pretty packed. We made our way up to the Clear Creek Greenway Trail where we walked along the path and found incredibly pretty scenery to use for their family photos. Also, can we talk about how well put together their outfits were? I love the purple and green together!
This family was super funny and totally game for all of my silly prompts and games that I like to do to try and get natural reactions out of them. They even ended up deciding to get their feet wet and splash around in the frigid Clear Creek mountain water for a little bit too! I loved that they were willing to open up a little bit and let me get to know them as a family. I think that their willingness to let me in and play along with my questions and games really translated into beautiful photographs. I love that there is a mix of nice traditional portraits with everyone smiling and looking at the camera. But I also love that there are the natural moments filled with laughter mixed in there too. I hope that years from now when they look at these pictures they remember what a fun evening they had spending time together in the beauty of Colorado!
This one is probably my favorite!
