My my, it has been a bit of a frustrating summer for all of us photographers here in Colorado. I’ve lived here pretty much my whole life and I really don’t think I can recall a more rainy spring and summer than the one we’ve had in 2015. When I googled it my suspicions were confirmed and it sounds like the entire US has been having a particularly rainy year so far.
Don’t get me wrong, one of life’s great pleasures for me is cuddling up with a great book, a cup of coffee and listening to the rain fall outside. But, it’s busy season, ya’ll! I have families who are visiting Colorado who want to play outside! I’ve been rescheduling when possible, but there are only so many days that are available when the rain keeps coming. Luckily for me, I’ve had some really terrific go-with-the-flow kind of people who are game for outdoor photos even if there is a bit of a sprinkle coming down on us.
This sweet family featured on the blog today is one of those awesome families. They were out here celebrating their parent’s 50th wedding anniversary (that’s three 50th wedding anniversaries in a row for me this summer. How fantastic is that?!) The whole extended family came out to spend time together in the Breckenridge area and decided it would be nice to get some photos with the beautiful mountain scenery. One nice thing about all of this rain is that it has been turning our normally yellow and brown state into a lush green color and the wildflowers have been blooming like crazy. Check out the beautiful pictures we were able to capture for them even with the drizzle!
