Colorado Mountain Senior Photography
I have a gorgeous fall color Colorado mountain senior photography session to share with the world today. I first met Claire when I photographed her family last November when they were staying in Summit County for a ski trip over Thanksgiving break. Unfortunately, the weather last year was not very cooperative and there was hardly any snow. Still, it was kind of nice not freezing too badly while photographing them outside at Sapphire Point at Lake Dillon.
Shrine Pass Mountain Views for Senior Pictures in Colorado
Now Claire is a senior in high school down in Georgia and it’s time for her to get her high school senior yearbook photo taken care of. Her family has been visiting Colorado for a long time and she loves it here. She’s even considering becoming a CU Buff next year. So she combined a campus visit with an excursion to the Vail and Summit County area to find some fall color for her pictures. I thought that the gorgeous Gore range mountain views at Shrine Pass would be pretty awesome but it was too high up and too late in the season for any fall color there. In fact, there was already snow covering the ground with most of the shrubbery color faded away.
Fall Color Lilypad Lake Trail Head Senior Photos in the Autumn Aspen Tree Grove
We decided to head back down in elevation and found some really great color near the trailhead for Lilypad Lake in Frisco, Colorado. I had actually had this place in the back of my mind as a potential fall color photoshoot location for a few years but hadn’t had the chance to use it until now. There were a ton of Aspens that had managed to keep some of their color and we got some nice bright yellows and orange in the photos. The light was fading fast and we managed to get lots of good variety in this one location as well as a couple of pretty sunset sky pictures too. It was really hard for me to narrow these down since Claire is a beautiful girl in a pretty location but here is a selection of my favorites!
It’s hard to pick a favorite, but this one is up there for me!
