elcome to the journal for April O’Hare Photography! Here you’ll find all of my latest photographic outings with the couples, families, seniors and small businesses that I get to work with and make beautiful photographs for. You may also see a personal post here and there discussing my life or my travels with my teeny family of one husband and three cats! Sometimes I even write advice articles with tips to help make your photo experience better which you can check out under the “Educational” category.

Take your time and look around! Type in the place where you’ll be getting married in the search box to see if I’ve photographed there before. At the bottom of the page I’ve highlighted some of my favorite sessions and weddings from the past. Grab a drink and have fun going down the photo rabbit hole!

Colorado Proposal Photos | Sapphire Point at Lake Dillon in Summit County

April 16, 2015

One thing I really love about my job is that I get to witness one of the best days of my clients’ lives. It truly never gets old for me to see people in love profess their love for each other. This is why I’m pretty excited about the fact that people are starting to make plans to have their proposals photographed. I know I was lucky enough to have a photo from my proposal and the pictures we got on that day are some of my favorites ever because it just reminds me of one of my favorite moments ever. Keith started talking to me a couple of months ago to find out if it might be possible to photograph his proposal to his girlfriend, Amanda while they would be out here visiting Colorado. So we started talking about different places where this could work and we settled on Sapphire Point out in Summit County at Lake Dillon. The place has incredible views and he could tell her that he wanted to take her to see the view before they went for a nice dinner. We also figured I could try to look like a random tourist or wildlife photographer focusing on all of the chipmunks out there.
I’m stoked that we were able to pull the whole thing off. We sent photos back and forth of each other and of the site and discussed the timing and the exact location for him to get down on one knee. I was waiting out on the path at Sapphire Point when I saw them start to walk over toward me and my heart started pounding since I knew a big moment was about to happen and I needed to be ready for it. I’m sure Keith was even more excited and nervous than I was as he stopped with Amanda and embraced her while looking out at those gorgeous blue snow-capped mountains. Then he got down on one knee and asked her to be his wife. I think you’ll be able to see for yourselves in the photos below what her answer was:)

Congratulations to Keith & Amanda! Here’s to a beautiful wedding in Tenessee!

My favorite:)
