elcome to the journal for April O’Hare Photography! Here you’ll find all of my latest photographic outings with the couples, families, seniors and small businesses that I get to work with and make beautiful photographs for. You may also see a personal post here and there discussing my life or my travels with my teeny family of one husband and three cats! Sometimes I even write advice articles with tips to help make your photo experience better which you can check out under the “Educational” category.

Take your time and look around! Type in the place where you’ll be getting married in the search box to see if I’ve photographed there before. At the bottom of the page I’ve highlighted some of my favorite sessions and weddings from the past. Grab a drink and have fun going down the photo rabbit hole!

Telluride Colorado Engagement Photography | Dallas Divide and Ridgway

April 8, 2015

Telluride Engagement Photographer Creates Springtime Engagement Pictures with Dallas Divide

As a Telluride engagement photographer, I have the prettiest engagement pictures to share with the world today. Spring has officially gotten underway here in Denver with the trees exploding with incredible smelling floral blooms. All of this nice weather and nice smells reminds me of a gorgeous session that I did last spring and never got around to sharing. Last May a gal named Stephanie contacted me to see if I would be willing to travel out to the Telluride/Ridgway area to photograph their engagement photos. I’ve been to Durango, but in all of my years of living in Colorado I have never been all the way out to Telluride or Ridgway before so of course I was on board to photograph in a new location. And oh my, what an incredible location it is! Stephanie’s now husband, Kyle lived out in Ridgway for awhile and mentioned that the Dallas Divide might be a good place to do their photos.

Geoff and I decided to hitch our trailer to the jeep and spent a night at the Ridgway State Park before meeting up for the photo shoot. Our campsite was just a short walk away from a magnificent view of the water from a cliff. We fit in a hike and also wandered around the historical town where we found an old-school wood pet carrier at one of the many antiques shops they have in town. We even found time to stop by Billings Artworks which is the place where they make the Grammy awards. If you are thinking about where to visit in Colorado I can’t recommend this area enough. It’s way off the beaten path (about 5 and a half hours from Denver actually) and full of nice people and pretty views. In fact, I would say that the drive from Ridgway to Telluride may be on par with the Road to Hana in Maui in terms of sheer beauty. See for yourself in the Telluride engagement pictures below!
