elcome to the journal for April O’Hare Photography! Here you’ll find all of my latest photographic outings with the couples, families, seniors and small businesses that I get to work with and make beautiful photographs for. You may also see a personal post here and there discussing my life or my travels with my teeny family of one husband and three cats! Sometimes I even write advice articles with tips to help make your photo experience better which you can check out under the “Educational” category.

Take your time and look around! Type in the place where you’ll be getting married in the search box to see if I’ve photographed there before. At the bottom of the page I’ve highlighted some of my favorite sessions and weddings from the past. Grab a drink and have fun going down the photo rabbit hole!

Colorado Wedding Photographer | Denver Botanic Gardens Chatfield Farms

July 20, 2015

I photographed Anna & Jakob’s wedding at Chatfield Farms at Denver Botanic Gardens last weekend. It was my second wedding there this season and the whole place is looking gorgeous as always. There were bunny rabbits hopping around all over the place and the gardens were looking nicely grown in now that it’s mid-summer. Anna and Jakob are a really unique couple. They met in Ukraine while serving in the Peace Corps. I had my first inkling that they were cool people and that I would really like them when they mentioned that they were considering doing a Twin Peaks themed photobooth. (Yes, the David Lynch Twin Peaks) They chose to have a more non-traditional bridal party with their friends and family standing on their side no matter their gender and everyone got to choose what to wear for themselves which made for a nice colorful bridal party! One of Jakob’s best friends officated the ceremony for them and it was an incredibly sweet celebration. Later in the evening we managed to get some dramatic photos with dark clouds looming before the sky opened up with rain. Luckily everyone fit inside the barn and that’s where the rest of the evening’s festivities took place. The catering staff just cleared away a few tables to make room for a dance floor area and it was quite cozy inside the barn with the rain falling outside the doors. It was a perfect wedding day!

My favorite:)
