Colorado Wedding Photographer | Mountain Stream Wedding at Cathedral Rock

September 11, 2017

Today is part two of Juliana and Mike’s awesome summer weekend wedding celebration in the beautiful Buffalo Creek mountain area which is just south of Conifer. Friday night found these two shuffling around the wood dance floor with their family and friends and Saturday was the day that everyone gathered around them on the island by the river to watch them say their vows. Prior to the ceremony, I had the pleasure of spending some time at Mike’s cabin where he was prepping for the day with his 5 kids and other close relatives. Juliana was up at her parents home near the dance hall and reception tent.

The ceremony took place down by the river with Cathedral Spires rock formation looming overhead in the background. The sky turned an incredible dark stormy shade of blue right before the wedding and the wind picked up. Along with the rushing of the South West Platte River it all provided a lovely and dramatic setting to get married.

After the ceremony, everyone walked through the field to get back over to the wedding reception tent and cabins where the majority of the party would take place. Juliana and Mike are so loved by their family and friends that when it was open mike time there were no shortage of speakers ready to come up and sing their praises. After the delicious dinner created by their family friend, Shannon Hughes the party moved into the dance hall where a live band was set up and ready to rock out for the evening. As an added bonus, Juliana’s uncle who is a well known blues singer from Chicago jumped in with the band and serenaded the crowd for a few songs. It was an incredible day full of love all around!

Love this one!
