elcome to the journal for April O’Hare Photography! Here you’ll find all of my latest photographic outings with the couples, families, seniors and small businesses that I get to work with and make beautiful photographs for. You may also see a personal post here and there discussing my life or my travels with my teeny family of one husband and three cats! Sometimes I even write advice articles with tips to help make your photo experience better which you can check out under the “Educational” category.

Take your time and look around! Type in the place where you’ll be getting married in the search box to see if I’ve photographed there before. At the bottom of the page I’ve highlighted some of my favorite sessions and weddings from the past. Grab a drink and have fun going down the photo rabbit hole!

Colorful Colorado Family Photos on Squaw Pass Road

October 10, 2019

Colorful Colorado Family Photos During Fall Color in Evergreen

Today’s blog post is featuring a beautiful set of colorful Colorado Family Photos at the Squaw Pass Road mountain meadow up in Evergreen.  Vania got in touch with me early this summer to schedule a session for her family but we kept getting bad weather and having to push their photos out.  I’m sure it was frustrating for their family to wait to get their family pictures taken care of, but it ended up being a stroke of luck that we waited until the fall season to actually get these done for them.  I say that because Jorge’s two older daughters were out visiting him for his birthday and were able to join them for their family photo session. I am so glad they got to be here and be in these with them!

Aspen Tree Grove During Fall Family Photography Session

There are iconic brown wood signs that you see when you first drive into Colorado that say, “Welcome to Colorful Colorado.” We even have one of them on display at the history museum in Denver because they’re so popular.  The phrase on those signs are exactly what I think of when I look at these photos. Just look at how wonderfully colorful Colorado can be particularly during fall when all of the aspen trees are turning yellow. If you’ve been visiting my journal a lot recently, you’ll recognize this location as the Squaw Pass Road mountain meadow that I love so much.  With all of the unique finds at this location (wood tipi structures, rustic wood fences, a wide variety of different colored trees, mountain views, and a pretty grassy meadow) it’s hard to beat especially for creating pretty colorful Colorado family photos! We spent our session playing games and just having fun together as a family. My favorite moment of all may have been when their youngest sent his big brother running after farting right next to him!  What a classic sibling moment, haha! Below I’ve retouched my absolute favorites from their session to share with the world.
