Colorful Holiday Family Photography at Styled Indoor Studio
This colorful holiday family photography session took place at the indoor studio at Denver Photo Collective’s west Colfax location in Lakewood, Colorado. My brother in law and his wife have actually done their family pictures at this location before. Their children are young and doing the pictures outside just doesn’t make sense for them since they need morning sessions and a place warm enough to keep their little ones happy. I try to only do outdoor sessions at sunset (and occasionally at sunrise when I have to, although I am not a fan of waking up early, ha) because that is when the light we’re working with is the nicest. This indoor studio space has been a great option for us while their children are young and they can’t be as flexible with the time of day that we photograph them. This year, the folks at Denver photo collective created this super cute, fun, colorful holiday themed backdrop for us to use. I love all of the bold, bright colors. It makes the whole thing feel fresh and a little less of a traditional “Christmas” holiday look which is great since Brandon’s side of the family is Jewish.

Since we last photographed at this indoor studio, Brandon and Lauren had another child. Now Benny has an adorable baby sister named Norah. I think Benny looks like Lauren’s little “mini me” and now Brandon has a daughter who looks just like he did when he was a little baby. Isn’t it funny how that works? The whole family dressed up in shades of pink and green to match this bright and colorful holiday set decor and I think the whole thing came together really nicely. This is my first time getting to photograph Norah and I got so lucky that she looked at my camera as much as she did. Afterall, she’s not even 3 months old yet and it’s difficult to get babies that young to look at a camera. Still, we managed to catch quite a few really cute ones with her. Benny wasn’t as interested in doing pictures this time around and he’s definitely more mobile since the last time we photographed here. But I still think we even managed to get some cute ones with him too. Check out a handful of my favorites below!
