elcome to the journal for April O’Hare Photography! Here you’ll find all of my latest photographic outings with the couples, families, seniors and small businesses that I get to work with and make beautiful photographs for. You may also see a personal post here and there discussing my life or my travels with my teeny family of one husband and three cats! Sometimes I even write advice articles with tips to help make your photo experience better which you can check out under the “Educational” category.

Take your time and look around! Type in the place where you’ll be getting married in the search box to see if I’ve photographed there before. At the bottom of the page I’ve highlighted some of my favorite sessions and weddings from the past. Grab a drink and have fun going down the photo rabbit hole!

Denver Maternity Photographer | Street Art in River North Art District and Curtis Park Neighborhood

March 3, 2017

Laura and Chase got married in 2011 at a pretty farm in Boulder. It truly does not feel like it was that long ago, but it has already been almost 6 years. I was so excited for them when I heard that they are pregnant with their first child. And of course I was more than happy to meet up and photograph them around the Rino Art District near downtown Denver for their maternity portraits. Chase is quite the shutterbug himself (you can follow him on instagram @cnh.photo) where he shows off a lot of cool architectural and street scene type of photography. Laura mentioned how much they both like the area around Central Market at 27th and Larimer. There is a ton of cool street art all over the place in that area so that’s where we met for their session.

It’s actually been a pretty long time since I have walked around over there (during daylight hours anyway) and it was cool to see all of the new paintings and shops and restaurants that have gone up since I lived in the neighborhood over ten years ago now. A highlight was definitely the alley covered in Stranger Things street art. And I was also pleased to find another geometric mural from Gemma Danielle outside of the Crema coffee shop. I recently discovered her work at a different session from earlier this year and I just love how it looks in my client’s photos! We even found a really cool building with some red accent paint that matched beautifully with Laura’s awesome red blouse. I’m so glad we were able to get these colorful photos of these two together as they excitedly wait for the little one to arrive.

My favorite:)
