Golden Gate Canyon State Park Family Photos
I have the prettiest fall color Golden Gate Canyon State Park family photos to share with the world. I loved every minute of photographing this family featured on the journal today. They were looking for some mountain views in their photos so I sent them a handful of my favorite places for that and since we would be photographing toward the end of September they opted to go for Golden Gate Canyon State Park since it’s known for having pretty incredible fall color. I arrived early since it’s been a couple of years since I had photographed there just to see where the best spots might be and then met up with them at the visitors center so we could drive over to our first spot.
Their little guy was such a sweet and funny kid. He’s only 2 years old so I was expecting to have my work cut out for me with trying to get some decent photos (As you can imagine, 2 year olds are not known for their cooperation) but he was so engaged the whole time definitely making it one of the easiest sessions I think I’ve ever had with a young boy like him. We found some incredible little pockets of color to use along the Mountain Base Road which is the main road that runs through the park on the west side.
We ended up getting the mountain views they were looking for toward the end of the session because I wanted to wait until the sunset was changing the colors in the sky before getting those photos for them. I’m so glad we waited because the warm pastel streaks of color just look so nice against the dark blue mountains and gold color of the fall aspen tree leaves. This session was so much fun to do that I’m sad the fall color didn’t last very long and now I have to wait another year to come back to Golden Gate Canyong State Park and have it to look like this again!
