Red Rocks Trading Post Backyard Brunch Wedding
I met Grace and Jeff last fall when we headed down to the Twin Lakes area for their beautiful engagement session. I just learned that area is on fire right now, which is just awful. It’s such a gorgeous part of Colorado! I hope the firefighters can contain it before it destroys a lot of acreage and/or homes. But on a happier note, I got to meet up with them again on the very last day of May for their stunning brunch wedding at the Red Rocks Trading Post Backyard in Morrison, Colorado. I had warned them that with Colorado’s bright sunshine, we may be dealing with some harsh lighting for their photos, but we got super lucky with some nice even lighting from a cloudy morning which made way to the typical bright sunny Colorado day and you can see the difference in their photos from when the sun was out and when it was overcast. We mostly got the nice even lighting for their portrait time so I really couldn’t have been happier with how these photos turned out for them.
These two are geologists so this was really the perfect venue for them with their love of rocks. I loved that their seating chart was based on the various types of rocks and mineral deposits and things like that found in this part of Morrison. So their table names and descriptions were different from anything I’ve ever seen before with table one being the “Quaternary Deposits (Holocene)” table (Qa) on through Table 12 being the “Migmatitic Gniess (Early Proterozoic) table (with a scientific letter that I don’t even know how to type on my keyboard lol). I loved this chill brunch wedding reception vibe with lawn and board games placed throughout the venue. They didn’t bother with all of the traditional wedding reception events like a cake cutting, first dance, or speeches/toasts and focused more on just getting to spend quality time with everyone.
