Five Points Colorful Urban Mural Family Portraits
I’ve had the pleasure of getting to photograph in the Five Points/Rino Art District area of North Denver quite a bit lately and I LOVE it! Today’s journal post features a super cute local family who have lived on the Front Range for quite awhile so like me, they’ve gotten to see how fast this city has changed. It’s hard to think of a place that’s changed quite as much as Five Points. I actually have extremely old blog posts where I walked around this same neighborhood getting urban scenery with graffiti art so that’s actually always been a part of this neighborhood. But, the sheer amount of art that you can see painted on the walls in this area has just exploded in recent years and has turned it into an outdoor art museum of sorts.
Originally we had hoped to photograph in Boulder at CU’s campus which is gorgeous, but sadly, 2020 had other plans for us and we weren’t able to get permission due to the increasing numbers of Covid-19 at their school. So we pivoted a little and they decided to head into the city to get some color instead. We also made our way over to City Park for our second location to find a little bit of fall color to use as well. I love what we were able to capture for them at our session. I picked out a small amount of my favorites to share below!
If you’re thinking about booking your own family portrait session, be sure to take a look at the FAMILIES page of my site and then get in touch to tell me more about what you’re looking for!
