elcome to the journal for April O’Hare Photography! Here you’ll find all of my latest photographic outings with the couples, families, seniors and small businesses that I get to work with and make beautiful photographs for. You may also see a personal post here and there discussing my life or my travels with my teeny family of one husband and three cats! Sometimes I even write advice articles with tips to help make your photo experience better which you can check out under the “Educational” category.

Take your time and look around! Type in the place where you’ll be getting married in the search box to see if I’ve photographed there before. At the bottom of the page I’ve highlighted some of my favorite sessions and weddings from the past. Grab a drink and have fun going down the photo rabbit hole!

Sunny Summer Sapphire Point Colorado Intimate Wedding Photography | Mountain Views at Lake Dillon

July 2, 2018

Just a couple of weeks ago, on a hot sunny day in the Colorado mountains, a cute couple named David and Lizzy decided to get married with their closest family and friends by their sides. Sapphire Point has become one of the most popular places to hold an intimate wedding ceremony in the Summit County, Colorado area. If you’ve ever been there you know why this is. It’s an incredibly scenic location with incredible views of Buffalo Mountain, the Ten Mile Range toward Breckenridge, pretty water views of Lake Dillon and more. (By “and more” I mean chubby little chipmunks, who get way too much sodium from all of the visiting tourists feeding them sunflower seeds scamper around your feet the whole time! Haha)

Plus, there’s really no hiking required. It’s a nice easy path from the parking area (which is quite plentiful compared to most Colorado trails!) to the overlook. As long as you are hosting a smaller wedding (I think it can only fit up to 35 people) it’s one of the best outdoor wedding ceremony locations in the whole state. The only downside is its sheer popularity and we sometimes have to politely ask people to clear out of the overlook area during the wedding ceremony. But, it’s a small price to pay for the affordability and beauty of the place.

David and Lizzy were very laid-back people which made it really fun to photograph them. We made sure to capture them with all of their family after the ceremony was over and we also included their sweet furry best friends into some of their pictures too. We even managed to get over to the docks on the east side of Lake Dillon for some pictures closer to the water. It was a beautiful quintessential Colorado wedding day with lots of love and laughter. Congratulations to David & Lizzy!

I think this one is my favorite because look how blue and pretty the Lake Dillon water looks!
