Sylvan Lake State Park Engagement Photos

July 19, 2013

Colorado Engagement Photography at Sylvan Lake State Park

I have some gorgeous Sylvan Lake State Park Engagement Photos to share today. A week ago I drove out to Eagle, Colorado to meet up with Alisha & Kevin. They are getting married in the wintertime here in Denver but they live up in the mountains near the Eagle and Beaver Creek area so we met up out there to get some photos that will look totally different from their wedding pictures. The forecast was showing rain but due to both of our busy schedules we really needed to make it work so we decided to go for it despite the rain headed our way. We drove into Sylvan Lake State Park and busted out some blankets and umbrellas in the beginning of the session. We attempted to stay as dry as possible this way as we explored Sylvan Lake State Park. We found some awesome dilapidated old rustic barns and buildings to use in the open fields. This Colorado state park is surrounded by the White River National Forest making it extra gorgeous for engagement photos in the Eagle Colorado area. And in the end, I think the rainy weather actually added to the romantic feel of their Sylvan Lake State Park Engagement Photos. Toward the end of the engagement session, as the sun was setting we finally made our way out to Sylvan Lake to use the pretty lake backdrop and wildflowers in that area in the photos. Luckily, our perseverance paid off and we had lovely clear skies by the end. I love the way the sunset colors reflected off of the lake. It made for a very colorful end to what started out as a somewhat dreary start to their engagement session in Eagle, Colorado. Check out some of my favorites below!
