elcome to the journal for April O’Hare Photography! Here you’ll find all of my latest photographic outings with the couples, families, seniors and small businesses that I get to work with and make beautiful photographs for. You may also see a personal post here and there discussing my life or my travels with my teeny family of one husband and three cats! Sometimes I even write advice articles with tips to help make your photo experience better which you can check out under the “Educational” category.

Take your time and look around! Type in the place where you’ll be getting married in the search box to see if I’ve photographed there before. Wind River Ranch Family Photos

June 26, 2022

Senior and Family Photos at Wind River Ranch in Estes Park, Colorado

I have a beautiful set of family photos created at Wind River Ranch to share on the blog today. This was actually technically a senior portrait session but we ended up including the family for some of the pictures since Wind River Ranch is so beautiful and they were all conveniently there together for their annual family vacation. Wind River Ranch is located just down the road from the Longs Peak trailhead which is one of Colorado’s most famous 14ers. That big beautiful mountain backdrop in many of these photos is Longs Peak which is one of my favorite mountain views in all of Colorado because I grew up looking at it from Longmont.

Though it was mid-June when we photographed this family, it was a bit chilly since we timed it for sunset and because at higher elevations it’s still basically spring in June. But, despite it being a little on the chilly side, we managed to get a ton of beautiful photos for them. The scenery at Wind River Ranch is so gorgeous. We started off getting some with the aspen tree grove while we waited for the sun to sink a bit lower and then moved along to the old rustic vintage pick up truck that’s parked conveniently in front of the Longs Peak view. I especially loved how pretty the glow of Twin Sisters peak looked with the pretty red sunset light hitting it. It certainly made for a beautiful senior photo for this family’s son. I also laughed when the barn cat who lives at Wind River Ranch decided he had to join in for some of the photos despite his best efforts at evading him due to his allergies. All in all, I have to say that Wind River Ranch is one of the more stunning dude ranch locations I’ve seen in all of Colorado. It was the perfect place for this Texas family to capture some memories.
