elcome to the journal for April O’Hare Photography! Here you’ll find all of my latest photographic outings with the couples, families, seniors and small businesses that I get to work with and make beautiful photographs for. You may also see a personal post here and there discussing my life or my travels with my teeny family of one husband and three cats! Sometimes I even write advice articles with tips to help make your photo experience better which you can check out under the “Educational” category.

Take your time and look around! Type in the place where you’ll be getting married in the search box to see if I’ve photographed there before. At the bottom of the page I’ve highlighted some of my favorite sessions and weddings from the past. Grab a drink and have fun going down the photo rabbit hole!

Autumn Colorado Mountain Wedding | Four Points Lodge Steamboat Springs

October 21, 2015

There is nothing quite like a an outdoor wedding on top of a Colorado mountain. The fresh air is invigorating and the whole day feels adventurous. Which marriage actually is if you think about it. It seems pretty fitting to me that Jacquie and Brock chose to get married in a beautiful outdoor mountain setting like the one at Four Points Lodge in Steamboat Springs. After all, they moved out to Colorado to take advantage of the great outdoor space we have here. They wanted to showcase incredible life they are leading out here in sunny Colorado and their family and friends came from all over to be here and celebrate their love and new life together on top of the mountain.

It was quite the mountain venue they chose for their big day. I’ve photographed many weddings in the Champagne Powder Room at Thunderhead which is the big ski chalet style building at the top of the gondola in Steamboat Springs, Colorado and have been seriously impressed with the gorgeous views of the Yampa Valley you can find right there. But the new building called Four Points Lodge that the resort just built last year takes it up another level. Literally! It’s over 600 feet higher in elevation than Thunderhead and after you take the beautiful gondola ride up, guests hop into a shuttle which takes them up the hill even further. Once you are up there it feels like you’re on top of the world.

Autumn had just started to settle in on Jacquie and Brock’s wedding day and the gorgeous vibrant yellow and orange colors sprinkled across the landscape made for a beautiful backdrop for their wedding day. I could go on about how photogenic the whole day was (not just the scenery but the seriously good looking couple too!) but I’ll just leave it to the photos below to finish the story.

Congratulations, Jacquie & Brock!
