When I first met this adorable family they were living up in the northern part of the state and their oldest was just a little 3 month old baby boy. I was just looking at the photos from that session and since then his hair has filled in a ton and he now has a little mini-me in the form of his baby sister. Seriously, these two look so much alike I think even a stranger would be able to tell that they are siblings. Now that they’ve moved to the Arvada area we decided to meet up over at the Clear Creek History Park in Golden which was just beginning to turn colors when we met up in early October. That place is always crawling with photographers and families looking to get their pictures done but we managed to carve out our own little space next to the river.
This is a tough age to photograph when one kiddo is only a baby and doesn’t know the concept of looking at the camera just yet and the other doesn’t particularly care about looking at a camera and just wants to run around and have fun exploring! Can’t say I really blame him because who wants to sit still in nature? I sometimes get full grown adults who can barely hang at a family session let alone two year olds. It’s definitely asking for a lot. Despite the challenges of their ages I am really pleased with what we were able to come away with. We definitely got some good choices with the four of them together but I especially love the in-between candid moments we got at this session. I love these moments with mom and dad interacting with their children. I’m sure they are going to cherish these when they grow older. Check out some of my favorites below!
